Welcome to the warm-hearted JOY CELEBRATION (ILON PITOA) concert, where Karelian cultural heritage, the joy of music, and the power of stories meet in a unique way. The concert stars Doctor of Music, musician, composer, and cultural influencer Sari Kaasinen.

Sari Kaasinen is known as a guardian of Karelian musical tradition and as a founding member of the band Värttinä. Her performances combine strong artistic expertise, warm interaction, and genuine presence. Originally from Rääkkylä, Kaasinen draws her creativity from Finnish and especially Karelian cultural heritage, bringing it to life for today's audiences.

JOY CELEBRATION offers Karelian and Kaasinen joy, stories, singing, and playing. The concert features the delicate and powerful sound of kanteles and occasionally the tones of a two-row accordion. The repertoire consists of beloved Karelian melodies, original compositions based on tradition, and Kalevala runo-singing, which opens a window to the oldest layers of Finnish culture.

In addition to music, Sari guides the audience through the backgrounds of the songs, melodies, and Karelian tradition. The concert features fascinating stories about the birth of songs, the significance of folk tradition, and how centuries-old melodies and poems have been passed down from generation to generation. The stories bring the music close to the listener and deepen the experience in a unique way.

This spirited, warm-hearted, and participatory concert takes listeners into Karelian atmospheres, community, and the joy of music. The audience is welcome to join in singing and sharing Karelian joy.
