On Saturday, 22 August, the Kymi Sinfonietta will take to the stage at Olavinlinna Castle, conducted by Antti Rissanen. Olavinlinna Rocks! The soloists of the evening will be Jarkko Ahola and Marika Hölttä.

Olavinlinna Rocks! concert will feature rock classics from Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Nightwish and Metallica, among others. The arrangements will be made by conductor Antti Rissanen's team of arrangers, who will tailor the arrangements for the Kymi Sinfonietta.

Jarkko Ahola is known as a rock tenor for the whole nation, whose soulful voice has enchanted fans of Finnish rock and heavy music as well as atmospheric evergreens and power ballads. Ahola became known to the general public as the soloist, bassist and songwriter of the band Teräsbetoni. Now he performs both as a solo artist and with his own band.

Marika Hölttä is a singer and performer whose repertoire covers a wide range of different musical styles. Hölttä has achieved competition success with the second prize at the Lappeenranta Singing Competition in 2019 and the second prize in the international singing competition Havet's Röst in 2018. Hölttä is a sought-after soprano soloist for orchestral performances due to her wide vocal range, repertoire and stage immersion.

Antti Rissanen is a multidisciplinary musician, trombonist-pianist, composer-conductor, music arranger and teacher. Rissanen has more than thirty years of experience as a leader of big bands and as a rhythm music conductor with various symphony orchestras.

The buffet is available before the concert at restaurant Linnantupa from 16.30 to 18.45, a limited number of buffet tickets are on sale.
