Even more magnificent facilities by the Aura river in Turku
"The modernisation of the whole floor of meeting and event facilities at Marina is part of TOK's major investments in hotel operations. As a result, we are heavily engaged in developing the attractiveness of Turku as a travel and event destination", says general manager Sanna-Liisa Byskata.
Throughout its 40-year history, Radisson Blu Marina Palace Hotel has been the best-known and most highly regarded meeting and event venue in Turku.
"It is important to us that we keep up with the times and are able to provide our customers with magnificent settings. This is why we are modernising all of our meeting and event facilities, including the interior design and furniture, to help our customers to hold even better meetings, reliably and easily. The colours and streamlined furniture of the meeting and event facilities supplement the already updated lobby floor and rooms, making the entire building consistent and harmonious. After the modernisation, the facilities can be combined more easily and the new movable walls allow them to be modified for events of up to 400 to 1,000 people", Byskata says.
Nature and the river flowing by the building are integral parts of Marina Palace, which is why they have offered a strong inspiration for the new meeting and event facilities. As a result of the modernisation, Radisson Blu Marina Palace will be a full-range oasis of experiences and a partner that allows its guests to dig deep into the genuine local atmosphere. The flowing river has also inspired the visual environment of the new facilities. The meeting and event facilities have been designed by dSign Vertti Kivi & Co.
"Here at dSign, we always start from the atmosphere and focus on lighting solutions. The water flowing past the hotel inspired both our visual choices and the flexible, easily modified solutions. We upgraded the classic hotel to the modern age by enlivening the elegantly dark design with the sparkle of water using accent colours such as pink and emerald, and by selecting shiny material. State-of-the-art AV solutions that work as a natural part of the interior design also reflect the modern age", says Samuli Hintikka, head of design at dSign Vertti Kivi & Co.
The hotel is operating normally throughout the modernisation project. The modernisation work has been planned so as to cause no disturbance to customers.
